About the Role
The ER Registration Specialist plays a crucial role in the patient registration process, ensuring that all necessary information is accurately collected and verified. This position requires excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to handle various scenarios with professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Obtain and verify patient identity, demographic, and registration information
- Collect patient financial responsibilities when applicable
- Prepare ID bracelets and verify information before placing armbands on patients
- Communicate with nurses and doctors in a professional manner
- Input patient data into the computer network according to department policy and procedure
- Utilize scheduling and document management systems
- Perform duties independently with minimal supervision
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years experience with computerized data entry
- 1-3 years experience in a customer service-related field
- 1-3 years experience in a healthcare, call center, business, financial, or insurance-related field
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of EMTALA rules
- Experience in providing high-level customer service
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Detail-oriented and accurate
- Aptitude and willingness to learn new responsibilities

Pay
Your final base compensation will be determined based on factors such as employment status (Full/Part-Time or Per Diem), skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to these factors, we consider internal equity of our current team members when making final offers.
