ER Registration Specialist - Part-Time Days

About the Role
The ER Registration Specialist plays a crucial role in the hospital's operations by entering and verifying patient information, collecting financial responsibilities, and registering patients. This position requires excellent customer service skills, empathy, and strong communication abilities.
Responsibilities
- Obtain and verify patient identity, demographic, and registration information
- Collect patient financial responsibilities (e.g., copay, deductible, co-insurance, self-pay rates, and outstanding balances)
- Explain and obtain necessary signatures on releases and consent forms
- Prepare ID bracelets and verify information before placing armbands on patients
- Communicate with nurses and doctors professionally and maintain a professional demeanor
- Answer telephones and other incoming communications in a timely and customer-service-oriented manner
- Input patient data into the computer network according to department policy and procedure
- Perform duties independently with minimal supervision
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years experience with computerized data entry
- 1-3 years experience in a customer service-related field
- 1-3 years experience in a healthcare, call center, business, financial, or insurance-related field

Pay
Pay Range: $19.00/hour - $22.50/hour
Schedule
Full-time and part-time employees have the option to work either a full-time or per diem schedule.
