ER Nurse, 10a-10p

Qualifications

The RN must demonstrate assessment and reassessment documentation of emergency department patients and proper communication of findings to other allied healthcare members. They must also demonstrate appropriate chain of command use and delegation of care responsibilities, provide holistic, patient-centered care, and demonstrate critical thinking through individualized care planning.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

The RN must demonstrate knowledge and technical skill necessary for providing competent, comprehensive patient care. They must also demonstrate leadership abilities including ability to give and follow instructions accurately, provide positive, professional role modeling, and demonstrate ability to teach/instruct patients, families, and colleagues.

Personal Characteristics

The RN must function professionally under stressful or emergency conditions, utilize effective verbal, non-verbal, and written forms of communication, work effectively with others, demonstrate tact, discretion, diplomacy, and a commitment to teamwork, and behave in a manner consistent with "Patients First Behavioral Commitment."

Quality/Performance Improvement

The RN must participate in identifying or recommending areas for improvement and participate in quality improvement activities to improve patient care related to planned outcomes.

Certification/License

The RN must be certified in CPR, registered, and hold ACLS, ER PALS, TNCC (preferred), ENPC (preferred), CEN (preferred), SANE (preferred), and have prior emergency service critical care experience (preferred).
