About the role

The ER Discharge Coordinator PRN is responsible for Point of Care (PoC) patient bedside scheduling as part of the centralized ER and Urgent Care follow‑up programs. The role focuses on bedside‑initiated patient experience to increase contact rate, scheduling immediacy, and overall patient satisfaction while maintaining a positive, patient‑centered, quality‑driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Speak with customers, patients, and stakeholders in a pleasant and professional manner.
• Communicate clearly and appropriately with department leadership, co‑workers, and customers/patients.
• Schedule patients for follow‑up care bedside when appropriate.
• Ensure performance and quality standards are met.
• Provide superior customer service to internal and external customers and patients.
• Support the organization’s vision and strategy, positively promote services offered, and elevate issues to leadership as appropriate.
• Suggest ideas for positive changes to department policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• One year of related experience is preferred.
