Role Overview
The ED - Emergency Department Charge Nurse (RN) provides leadership, supervision, and direct clinical care in a fast-paced emergency setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure efficient patient flow, oversee admissions, transfers, discharges, and staff supervision.
- Delegate tasks, mentor new staff, and support team members to maintain high-quality patient care.
- Collaborate with medical providers to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care.
- Monitor medical charts, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and communicate protocol changes.
- Administer medications, respond to emergencies, and fulfill hospital incident command system roles.
- Maintain accurate records and promote a safe, risk-managed environment.
Qualifications & Skills
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor's or Master's preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year RN experience.
- Current licensure and certifications, including BLS, with ACLS, PALS, or NRP preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and clinical skills in emergency care.
