Role Overview

The ED - Emergency Department Charge Nurse (RN) provides leadership, supervision, and direct clinical care in a fast-paced emergency setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure efficient patient flow, oversee admissions, transfers, discharges, and staff supervision.
  • Delegate tasks, mentor new staff, and support team members to maintain high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with medical providers to deliver safe, effective, and compassionate care.
  • Monitor medical charts, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and communicate protocol changes.
  • Administer medications, respond to emergencies, and fulfill hospital incident command system roles.
  • Maintain accurate records and promote a safe, risk-managed environment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor's or Master's preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year RN experience.
  • Current licensure and certifications, including BLS, with ACLS, PALS, or NRP preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and clinical skills in emergency care.
