Equity Research Strategist
Citi Research is seeking an Equity Research Analyst to join its US Equity Strategy team. This role involves producing high-impact analysis of equity markets and investment themes for both internal and external clients worldwide.
About the role
This is a demanding role requiring exceptional analytic skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a small team. The individual will take ownership of critical processes supporting published research and develop into a subject matter expert on US equity markets. The role offers an opportunity to make a direct and measurable contribution to Citi’s research product and investment insights.
Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and enhance financial databases and models that support ongoing and bespoke research needs.
- Assess macro and micro economic forces at work and incorporate into market views.
- Analyze global equity markets and financial trends to produce timely, well-reasoned investment insights.
- Author high-quality research reports and thematic pieces that communicate Citi’s investment views to external clients and internal stakeholders.
- Originate and develop analysis of US investment themes, contributing to the US Equity Strategy product.
- Deliver tailored analysis and data-driven responses to requests from investors and Citi colleagues.
- Collaborate closely with Citi Research professionals across regions and disciplines to ensure a consistent, globally informed perspective.
- Uphold the highest standards of risk awareness and professional conduct, ensuring compliance and client protection.
Requirements
- 4-10 years of experience in equity research, investment strategy, or a closely related financial markets discipline.
- FINRA Series 86, 87, and 63, and the SIE.
- Advanced technical and analytical skills, with the ability to construct and manage sophisticated financial models and databases.
- Clear and persuasive communication in both written and spoken formats.
- Methodical and structured approach to managing multiple deliverables.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and geographies while also working independently.
- Holds or can obtain and maintain applicable regulatory licenses relevant to the role and jurisdiction.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent university-level qualification.
Qualifications
- Economics and/or data science background.
- MBA, MFE, or CFA is advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience working with US and global investment themes or multi-asset research.
- Proven ability to influence peers and senior stakeholders through evidence-based analysis.

Pay
Full-time salary range: $175,000.00 - $250,000.00. In addition to salary, eligible employees may receive discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
