Equity Research Associate - Internet/Digital Media (New York)
About the role
Analyze and interpret equity-related data, conduct research, and provide advice on economic issues impacting the business. Perform research studies of existing and potential investments in selected areas and develop recommendations. Depending on the research approach, analysis may focus on an individual security, sector, or country. Identify and investigate factors influencing investment decisions, quantify and interpret potential risks and rewards, and recommend acquiring, holding, or disposing of investments. Monitor designated investments to identify trends and conditions, assist in developing policy guidelines, and track market anomalies to capitalize on opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Work within established research systems to deliver prescribed outcomes for a designated part of an economic research program.
- Conduct research and select relevant information to enable analysis of key themes and trends using primary data sources and business intelligence tools.
- Prepare and coordinate the completion of various data and analytics reports.
- Contribute information to business cases for research funding to quantify current costs, justify project investment, and identify return on investment.
- Determine and analyze trends from collected data to assist in compiling reports for decision-making.
- Produce research specifications and related materials.
- Create reports for various audiences in a lucid and effective manner, tailored to their purpose.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (required).
- 13 months to 3 years of general work experience.
- Securities Industry Essentials Exam (SIE) certification – Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).
Pay
Salary range: $80,000.00–$105,000.00. The total compensation for this position includes base salary or wages and may include additional components such as cash or equity, discretionary bonuses, or commissions.
