About the Role
The Equity Research Associate at Wolfe Research will join the NY-based Extel-ranked Chemicals, Agriculture & Packaging Team. They will assist in all aspects of the franchise including modeling, note writing, and creating differentiated research analyses. Responsibilities will expand to include client communication and sales/trader interactions.
Responsibilities & Professional Experience
- Demonstrated ability to generate ideas: work closely and communicate effectively in a time-sensitive environment, balance multiple priorities, organize tasks, provide excellent client service, and write clearly and concisely.
- Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills: work with large data sets in Excel/Access, and independently source and process information.
- Strong communication skills: particularly in writing efficiently and concisely.
- Technical skills: proficiency in Bloomberg and/or FactSet, advanced Excel (macros, pivot tables, conditional formatting, shortcuts), and statistics (regression, variance, covariance, correlations).
- Use mastery of Excel functions: shortcuts, developing complex logic formulas, integrating graphics/data tables, formatting, and basic programming.
Requirements
- Must have 1-3 years of experience in sell-side research (preferably on a Chemicals/ Materials/ Energy (Midstream) or Industrials team), on the buy-side, investment banking, public accounting, consulting or industry experience preferred.
- Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university, concentration in Finance, Accounting, Math, or Statistics preferred.
- MBA, CPA, or CFA a plus.
- Advanced understanding of financial modeling, experience building and maintaining 3-statement models.
- Fully licensed with Series 7, 63, 86 & 87 preferred or expected to be completed within the first 6 months.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must enjoy following the stock market and developing industry themes.
- Eager to work in a fast-paced environment both independently and collaboratively.
- Demonstrated academic ability with a minimum 3.5 GPA.
- Comfortable working 10+ hour workdays and some weekends.

- Market competitive base salary range of $95,000-$120,000, with a base salary within this range based on non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to skill set, job-related experience, and location.
