About the role

Publish proprietary equity research in industries aligned to the firm's Banking sectors, demonstrating expertise in the sector.

Responsibilities

  • Create and publish proprietary equity research content in designated industries with stock recommendations (Buy, Hold, Sell) for institutional buy-side clients.
  • Conduct due diligence and provide industry expertise for capital markets equity transactions.
  • Initiate C-suite corporate access resources for institutional equity clients, including non-deal roadshows, conferences, field trips, bus tours, and conference calls.
  • Conduct independent industry assessments and produce company-specific research reports.
  • Engage with corporate client relationships at the highest C-level (CEO, President, COO, CFO, Director of Strategy, etc).
  • Work closely with senior analysts in the research production process and with supervisory analysts in the publication process.
  • Conduct research at macro, industry, and individual company levels.
  • Build models at the industry and company level, including market and market share forecasts, revenue, EPS, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Perform financial and valuation analyses.
  • Formulate investment ideas and write draft research commentary.
  • Depending on experience, collaborate with Capital Markets, sales, and trading to leverage research products into the institutional client base.
  • Depending on experience, maintain active dialogue with representatives of covered companies.
  • Depending on experience, work closely with institutional buy-side clients to leverage research products.

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree.
  • Licenses Required: SIE and Series 7 Top Off (or Series 7 for those licensed prior to October 2019), Series 63, Series 87, and either Series 86 or a FINRA waiver for those who have completed CFA II.
  • Minimum of 4 years of related work experience.
  • Mastery of financial and accounting concepts to facilitate the creation of in-depth financial models.
  • Advanced written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and sales skills.
  • Proven ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working towards CFA designation.
  • 4+ years of related work experience.

Pay

Annual base salary for this position in New York is $160,000.
