Position Summary
Enstructure is seeking an experienced Trainer to lead operator training, certification, and workforce development for both union and non-union employees at our Wilmington terminal. This is a hands-on, field-based position responsible for training operators, evaluating performance, ensuring compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver classroom and hands-on training for equipment operators.
- Conduct operator evaluations, practical testing, and certification assessments.
- Cook up training schedules with operations, supervisors, and workforce leadership.
- Maintain training records, certifications, and compliance documentation.
- Coach employees during live operations and identify performance improvement opportunities.
- Support onboarding, recertification, and workforce development initiatives.
- Promote safe work practices and reinforce company safety standards.
- Partner with union leadership, supervisors, and management to support workforce readiness and operational success.

- Wheel Loaders, required
- Yard Trucks
- Container Handling Equipment (CHE)
- RTG Cranes, required
- STS Cranes, required
- MHC or Other heavy industrial, port, or terminal equipment
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment operations, workforce training, terminal operations, logistics, construction, rail, or related industrial environments.
- Experience training and evaluating heavy equipment operators.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations, safety practices, and operator certification requirements.
- Experience working with both union and non-union workforces.
- Strong communication, coaching, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, excel and electronic training record systems.
- Able to work outdoors in an active operational environment.
- Must have or meet the eligibility requirements to obtain a TWIC.
- Must have a valid driver's license.
Preferred
- Marine terminal, port, stevedoring, breakbulk, or container operations experience.
- Experience working within an ILA or other unionized labor environment.
- OSHA Train-the-Trainer certification or equivalent.
- OSHA 30 Certified.
- Experience developing and delivering training materials, SOPs, and workforce development programs.
- Experience training operators on forklifts, earth moving equipment, cranes, container handling equipment, and specialized terminal equipment.
- Available to support day, night, and occasional weekends, as business needs require.
- Flexibility to accommodate operational and training schedules.
