About the role
The City of Huntsville’s Fleet Services Department seeks qualified applicants for the Equipment Technician II (Light Equipment) position. This role involves leading and directing mechanics in the repair and maintenance of various vehicles and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Leading and directing mechanics in the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment.
- Providing work direction to mechanics engaged in heavy equipment repair.
- Using extensive independent judgment to determine methods of repair.
- Reviewing work through inspection in process and at completion of jobs.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED certificate from a regionally accredited institution.
- Thorough experience in the repair of diesel and gasoline vehicles and equipment.
- A Valid Driver's License.
- ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certification in Automotive Brakes, Steering, and Transaxle or equivalent Manufacturer Training & Certification.
Qualifications
