Equipment Support CM (Seasonal PT)
About the role
Spurs Sports & Entertainment owns and operates the San Antonio Spurs (NBA), Austin Spurs (NBA G-League), and San Antonio FC (USL), and manages day-to-day operations of the Frost Bank Center, Toyota Field and STAR Complex. The Equipment Support CM provides game-day support to players, coaches, and officials, arena personnel, guests, and other individuals at the Spurs arena. The position assists with the preparation and maintenance of team areas, provides on-court support before and during games, and helps ensure players and coaches have the equipment and supplies needed prior to, during, and after games.
Responsibilities
- Assist with game-day setup and breakdown of the locker room, court, bench, and other team areas.
- Prepare basketballs, towels, water, equipment, and other supplies for players, coaches, officials, and staff.
- Rebound for players and provide on-court assistance during pregame warmups and other game-day responsibilities.
- Retrieve basketballs and assist players and coaches with reasonable on-court needs.
- Ensure the team bench and surrounding areas remain properly stocked, clean, and organized.
- Provide towels, water, equipment, and other supplies as needed.
- Assist with pregame, halftime and postgame needs, including resetting and organizing team areas.
- Respond promptly and professionally to reasonable requests from players, coaches, and staff.
- Maintain appropriate discretion and confidentiality regarding players, coaches, and team activities, and any non-public information learned through the position.
- Maintain a professional demeanor when interacting with players, coaches, officials, arena personnel, guests, and other individuals at the arena.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of basketball and familiarity with a basketball game environment preferred.
- Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to follow instructions and respond quickly to changing needs.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Professional demeanor and ability to appropriately interact with professional athletes, coaches, and staff.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
- Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods during game days.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing approximately 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Must be available for assigned home games, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be available before the scheduled start of games and remain after games as necessary to complete assigned responsibilities.
