Equipment Supply Manager

About the role

The Equipment Supply Manager is the single point of accountability for the development, delivery, start-up, and close-out of equipment for Natrium sites. This role plans and manages the overall execution of plant equipment delivery, coordinating multiple cross-functional teams—including design engineering, procurement, QA, fabrication, testing, logistics, start-up/commissioning, construction, and licensing—to ensure successful equipment delivery throughout its lifecycle. The role ensures proper communication and information control among key project stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead execution strategy for equipment across multiple teams, functions, and organizations.
• Articulate requirements, goals, and milestones for equipment delivery with stakeholders (system leads, senior managers, project managers).
• Drive equipment delivery on time and on budget per the Natrium Project plan.
• Develop plans with project teams, influence delivery, and keep leadership informed on progress.
• Coordinate timely review of deliverables across cross-functional teams.
• Ensure work focuses on the highest priority as reflected in the schedule.
• Initiate and execute recovery efforts for cost and schedule issues.
• Escalate challenges promptly to secure adequate attention and resources.
• Work with Corporate Procurement and Supply Chain teams to execute equipment-specific procurement strategies.
• Coordinate and drive vendor engagement strategies prior to RFP to ensure viability of design specifications and scopes of work.
• Track and monitor issuance and release of contracts for all equipment-related scopes.
• Oversee vendor performance for awarded scope.
• Monitor contract budgets to verify alignment with project financial parameters.
• Work with Testing teams to ensure development, demonstration, and qualification testing support equipment delivery needs (funding, timing, applicability).
• Manage risks to schedule and budget associated with testing programs.
• Reinforce organizational accountability for testing programs and results.
• Facilitate timely incorporation of test results impacting design.
• Work with Natrium Fabrication Oversight to manage fabrication vendors and witness/hold point notifications.
• Collaborate with the Natrium Construction team to integrate on-site requirements for assembly, installation, and inspections.
• Ensure adherence to quality requirements, regulatory guidelines, and industry standards with TerraPower QA and Licensing groups.
• Work with Project Management and Project Controls groups for up-to-date cost and schedule forecasting, including trend and risk identification.
• Ensure adequate documentation, materials, spare parts, and support for commissioning team testing.
• Implement accountability and governance checkpoints for testing programs.
• Conduct regular prioritization and triage reviews to focus on high-value activities aligned with schedule and risk mitigation.
• Lead development and implementation of recovery and get-well plans for cost or schedule deviations.
• Establish and execute formal escalation management protocols, including triggers, paths, and timing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in Supply Chain, Project Management, or Project Delivery.
• Proven leadership with a strong technical background in relevant areas.
• Proficiency in project management tools such as Jira and P6 (Primavera).
• Strong familiarity with nuclear codes, standards, and regulations (ASME BPVC, ASME QME-1, NQA-1, IEEE standards).

Qualifications

• Preferred certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional), Six Sigma, or Lean methodology.
• Demonstrated experience leading large project scopes across multiple teams with strong dependencies.
• Excellent communication skills and cross-organizational collaboration.

Job Functions

• Travel Required: 20-50% or more.

TerraPower's technology is controlled for export by U.S. Government agencies. Export authorization approval times vary; TerraPower may not consider foreign nationals from certain countries if timely approval is impracticable.

Pay

Salary Range: $138,685 - $161,188 (specific to the Seattle area). Offers are typically placed in the lower to middle portion of the range to maintain internal equity and allow for growth. Salary is based on market data and individual qualifications and experience.
