Responsibilities / Duties
- Manage equipment budget and cost tracking for project
- Coordinate with site Operations, Scheduling and Site Leadership on all equipment needs
- Manage daily allocation and deployment of heavy equipment, tools, and fleet assets
- Supervise mechanics, equipment coordinators, yard personnel, and support staff
- Cook up equipment scheduling to meet project timelines and operational needs
- Maintain accurate fleet inventory records including ownership, location, hours, inspections, and maintenance history
- Coordinate field repairs with internal mechanics and vendors to minimize downtime
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of equipment condition and operator practices
- Support incident investigations involving equipment or fleet operations
- Ensure timely completion of inspections, servicing, and repairs to minimize downtime
- Cook up with the accounting department through Vista Viewpoint to approve outstanding rental invoices and resolve any payment issues
Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of heavy construction equipment including: pile drivers, dozers, skid steers, forklifts, and excavators
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Effective communicator with ability to write and speak clearly in a variety of settings
- Well-organized and able to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
- Mechanical aptitude and understanding of heavy equipment systems
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail
- Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving
- Knowledge of logistics, warehousing, equipment and inventory management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience And Skills Needed
- 6-8 years’ experience in equipment management with an EPC Contractor
- Experience managing heavy equipment fleets in civil, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure
- Understanding of OSHA and DOT regulations related to equipment operations
- Knowledge of “Vista Viewpoint” or similar ERP software is preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams)
- Field experience in supervising personnel and task delegation
- Ability to achieve project goals and timelines
- Proven analytical, mathematical and problem-solving capabilities
