About the role
The Equipment Specialist-Yard team member performs a variety of fence branch duties and preventative maintenance activities to help keep equipment and yard/facility in good working condition.
Responsibilities
- Check, repair, store fence, fence equipment and other related company assets.
- Keep maintenance and repair area clean and organized.
- Inform Supervisor/Manager of material used throughout the day.
- Report any problems found on equipment throughout the day to supervisor.
- Inventory must be completely checked and repaired before delivery and upon return.
- Conduct general facility maintenance and minor repairs as needed.
- Use forklift for loading and unloading assets (fence panels, bike rakes, etc.)
- Occasionally operate delivery truck as needed.
- Follow United Site Services safety rules: utilize protective clothing and equipment, report safety hazards and incidents to supervisors.
- Special/other projects as assigned by management.
Requirements
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one interactions with customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.
- Ability to perform simple arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, and divide).
- Ability to perform these operations using units of American currency, measurement, weight, and distance.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Valid Driver License (Class CDL A or B with endorsement or Class C, D, or E depending on state).
Physical Requirements
- Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.
- Sit, stand, and walk, sometimes long distances.
- Reach with hands and arms.
- Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Lift and/or move between 50 pounds and 150 pounds multiple times.
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and ability to focus.
- Regularly exposed to outside weather conditions (in some cases extreme heat/cold), moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles.

Pay
Salary Range: $17.40 – $23.50 / hour
