About the Role
Patterson Dental is seeking an Equipment Sales Specialist to promote and generate sales of dental equipment products and services within a defined territory. This role involves working closely with other sales professionals to identify, qualify, and close equipment sales, as well as coordinating installations and managing new and remodeled dental office design projects.
Responsibilities
- Drive profitable sales growth across multiple equipment categories.
- Develop relationships with doctors and key practice staff.
- Execute effective cold call strategies to acquire new accounts and generate referrals from current customers and manufacturers’ representatives.
- Plan, coordinate, and schedule events such as technical demonstrations and co-travels.
- Prepare for sales visits by developing general and client-specific sales strategies.
- Set short and long-term business goals and analyze customer needs for selling opportunities.
- Coordinate with other Patterson sales professionals to demonstrate and sell equipment and technology.
- Proactively seek opportunities to discuss equipment and technology solutions based on customer needs and industry trends.
- Explain benefits and features of equipment and technology, including financial advantages like ROI and tax benefits.
- Use computer software to create plans for new or remodeled facility projects.
- Prepare project schedules and monitor progression to ensure on-time completion and accuracy.
- Evaluate project plans and blueprints, coordinate with designers and contractors, and suggest modifications when necessary.
- Provide post-sale support, demonstrate proper product use, and respond to customer queries in a timely manner.
- Hold client relationship meetings to monitor satisfaction and illustrate value-added services.
- Consult with customers on choosing real estate agents, general contractors, and other service providers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in any related field and 3 to 5 years of business-to-business outside sales experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong initiative with exceptional customer service, planning, and organizational skills.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to present and negotiate.
- Previous success in attaining and exceeding sales goals is a plus.
- General computer proficiency, including knowledge of MS Office.
- Valid driver’s license.
- 3+ years of dental industry experience preferred.
Pay
This position is paid on a commission basis.
