Responsibilities
- Follow instructions provided by Manager or Supervisor in assigned area.
- Perform all Mech/Tech I, II, III, and IV functions and responsibilities without hesitation or limitations.
- Provide front-line maintenance, independent preventive, and scheduled maintenance.
- Work without supervision and actively participate in training, coaching, and developing maintenance staff and operators.
- Communicate effectively and respectfully with co-workers, management, and departmental employees.
- Serve as an expert in equipment maintenance, performance, and operation with superior troubleshooting skills.
- Initiate and supervise all maintenance activities in the assigned area.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with ISO and OSHA guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned by area Manager or Supervisor.
Requirements
- High-level skills in mechanical, electrical, electronics, and pneumatic systems.
- Experience with robotics and CMMS Software is a plus.
- Strong working knowledge of computers and basic Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Maintenance Connections Software).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience with distribution equipment maintenance, or 3 years as a Mech/Tech IV.
- Capable of working without supervision and demonstrating mastery in the operation, maintenance, and calibration of complex high-speed distribution equipment.
- Ability to design and initiate training programs to develop technical staff skills.
- Sixty (60) days of on-the-job training under the direct supervision of an experienced Equipment Specialist or Department Manager.
- Power Industrial Truck (PIT) certification may be required and must be maintained.
- Additional training requirements assessed during annual performance evaluation.
Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.
- Experience may substitute for education with approval based on quality and relevance.
- General knowledge of PC and ability to perform activities requiring attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills.
Work Environment
While performing duties, the employee is occasionally exposed to low or elevated temperatures and dusty environments.
Physical Demands
- Maintain a clean workstation and follow all safety requirements.
- Perform duties in a standing position for extended periods.
- Lift, push, pull, and move materials/products weighing up to 40 pounds, no more than 40 inches in size.
- Perform tasks and repairs at heights of 33 feet or more.
- Engage in repetitive motion activities to support distribution operations.
- Reach, push, pull, grasp, handle, bend, lean, stoop, squat, twist, stretch, and work in awkward positions for maintenance and material handling.
- Frequently ascend and descend stairs to support production.
- Read, understand, and assume responsibility for all procedures, assignments, notices, and policies in assigned and common areas.
Travel is not expected for this position.
