Equipment Shop - Loader/Tool Assisstant/Driver

About the role

The Equipment Shop Tool Assistant will assist the Equipment Manager and Lead Mechanic with a variety of tasks related to the maintenance and tracking of current inventory of tools and equipment. They are expected to follow direction from the Equipment Manager on gathering tools for various jobs, while ensuring tools are functional and in acceptable condition. They will also assist in loading trucks while adhering to all safety policies with use of all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Housekeeping and cleaning of equipment, tools, and facilities are also expected along with the delivery of some equipment, tools, vehicles, materials, and parts to jobsites.

Responsibilities

• Assist Equipment Manager and Lead Mechanic with maintenance and tracking of tool and equipment inventory
• Gather tools for various jobs per Equipment Manager direction
• Ensure tools are functional and in acceptable condition
• Assist in loading trucks while adhering to all safety policies and using required PPE
• Perform housekeeping and cleaning of equipment, tools, and facilities
• Deliver equipment, tools, vehicles, materials, and parts to jobsites

Requirements

• Basic understanding of industrial equipment and tools
• Ability and willingness to travel to various local job sites within a week, with occasional out-of-town travel
• CDL Class A preferred but not required
• Required to possess and maintain a personal set of hand tools
• Ability and willingness to work overtime when necessary
• Expected to ensure workmanship meets or exceeds applicable standard industry and/or customer contract specifications

Pay
