About the Role
In this role, you will coordinate crane and equipment rentals, organize equipment inventory, and handle related administrative duties. You will manage all company rental business to create revenue and profit.
Responsibilities
- Handle all day-to-day rental activities and functions for the company.
- Generate revenue through equipment rentals while working with outside sales reps and customers.
- Coordinate and schedule rentals, deliveries, and demos; answer incoming calls.
- Manage repair and maintenance of the rental fleet.
- Prepare sales and rental contracts for sales reps.
- Ensure all required paperwork is signed and insurance is correct for sales reps and customers.
- Coordinate with service and sales departments on equipment priorities.
- Maintain a “READY LIST” to ensure quick turnarounds for new rentals.
- Work closely with outside hauling companies to secure the best price, service, and availability for all sales and rental freight.
- Verify with the service department on repairs needed before delivery and ensure equipment is ready prior to shipping.
- Arrange all deliveries for sales and rentals.
- Take and save pictures of equipment before and after rentals in the equipment file.
- Manage and maintain new and used inventory.
- Maintain all equipment attachments on contracts, internal spreadsheets, and operating systems.
- Communicate clearly with sales staff, service department, and customers.
- Communicate rental start and end dates with sales staff and accounting.
- Support the outside sales force.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
- Update equipment master spreadsheets with rental status (on rent, off rent, available to rent, etc.).
- Provide solid customer service and manage inventory control.
- Demonstrate teamwork and B2B skills.
- Learn and know equipment specs to advise customers on the right equipment.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years of experience in sales, customer service, or rental coordination.
Skills
- Knowledge and understanding of construction equipment.
- Knowledge of office practices, business correspondence techniques, customer service, and electronic filing maintenance.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively and work cooperatively with customers, sales representatives, staff, management, and other associates.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Office, and Excel.
- CDK and Salesforce experience is a plus.
Work Environment
This is primarily a stationary position in a controlled temperature condition. Occasionally, you will need to take photos of equipment outside in the yard or shop. The role requires finger dexterity for data entry and operating standard office equipment. You may occasionally bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift or carry items weighing less than 30 pounds.
