Equipment Sales Estimator

Primary Responsibilities

  • Gathers proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents from Outside Sales team.
  • Identifies labor, material, and time requirements.
  • Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.
  • Solves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.
  • Presents prepared estimates by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.
  • Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Maintains cost database by entering and backing up data from Vendors.
  • Issues Purchase Orders for materials/parts to the vendor when proposals are approved.
  • Communicates clearly with sales, service technicians and co-workers.
  • Completes any special projects or assignments as requested by management.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in the industry.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction sales, field experience or project management.
  • General knowledge of equipment terminology with an understanding of construction documents.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Proven customer service skills and the ability to resolve problems and prevent customer dissatisfaction while ensuring quality standards are met.
  • Ability to prioritize, troubleshoot and coordinate multiple tasks while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Intermediate computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.
  • Previous sophisticated ERP system experience preferred.
  • Commitment to meeting the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers with a good sense of urgency.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be team-oriented, highly organized, detailed oriented and have successfully demonstrated the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Working Environment

  • The work of this position is performed in a controlled office environment.
  • This position requires the ability to work under pressure and communicate with a diverse population including other employees, customers, vendors, etc.
  • This position also requires prolonged periods of sitting in a regular seated position as well as the use of general office equipment including phones, printers, computers, mouse, keyboard, etc.
