About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated, solution-oriented Procurement Specialist to support clinical supplies, labs, and equipment purchasing at Heartland Dental, the nation's largest commercial consumer of dental supplies, equipment, and lab services. In this role, you will support doctors and teams with world-class customer service while advocating for trusted clinical products and labs. You must convey the importance of using trusted dental products and labs, utilize strong customer service skills, and build strong relationships in alignment with Heartland Dental’s vision and mission.

Heartland Dental is the nation’s largest dental support organization, providing non-clinical administrative support to over 3,000 supported doctors across 39 states and the District of Columbia in 1,900+ dental offices. Each supported office is unique to its community, and doctors retain full clinical autonomy while uniting under a common goal: delivering the highest quality dental care and patient experiences. This position reports to the Equipment Category Manager within the Strategic Sourcing Department.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Operations to provide frontline support to dental offices and teams with the procurement of preferred products, serving as an escalation point for issue resolution.
  • Provide recommendations and support for products and equipment based on the clinical needs of offices, doctors, and teams.
  • Advocate for the usage of preferred suppliers and products; monitor offices with low utilization and work with them to correct issues; provide necessary tools, resources, and reporting.
  • Guide and educate supported offices in Heartland Dental systems related to ordering, budgeting, savings, and inventory management, including delivering presentations to operational customers.
  • Develop and improve internal processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness of support to offices, and establish/manage customer service satisfaction metrics.
  • Document solutions in a shared knowledge base to improve support consistency and response quality for supported offices.
  • Lead business reviews and monitor key performance indicators for supplier performance.
  • Other projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree OR three (3) years of experience in a customer service field.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with co-workers in a collegial manner to accomplish common tasks.
  • High level of maturity, personal initiative, and sound judgment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks in a timely and responsive manner.
  • Minimal overnight travel as necessary (quarterly or less).

Qualifications

  • Dental industry experience (desirable).
