Essential Functions
- Operate equipment, in a safe, efficient, and effective manner while minimizing all risks to job site personnel, the public, and property.
- Auxiliary in preparing equipment and materials for each day’s work at the Foreperson’s direction.
- Inspect equipment daily for needed fuel or fluids and inspect for safety before use.
- Auxiliary in all aspects of daily activities and assume a leadership role when required.
- Assist with the clean up and disposal of all debris.
- Set up barriers, warning signs, flags, markers, etc. to protect employees and the public.
- Stay updated on new equipment, specifications, standard practices, operating procedures, and customer and company employee relations policies and practices.
- Maintain above-standard customer relations.
- Report accidents promptly and accurately.
Education And Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or ability to attain one within 90 days of hire.
- Experience operating heavy equipment within the tree care industry, utility line clearance, and/or vegetation management industry.
- Knowledge of basic mechanical repair is a plus.
