Equipment Operator with CDL - Hampton Roads, VA (Residential/Commercial)

Essential Functions

• Operate equipment, in a safe, efficient, and effective manner while minimizing all risks to job site personnel, the public, and property.
• Auxiliary in preparing equipment and materials for each day’s work at the Foreperson’s direction.
• Inspect equipment daily for needed fuel or fluids and inspect for safety before use.
• Auxiliary in all aspects of daily activities and assume a leadership role when required.
• Assist with the clean up and disposal of all debris.
• Set up barriers, warning signs, flags, markers, etc. to protect employees and the public.
• Stay updated on new equipment, specifications, standard practices, operating procedures, and customer and company employee relations policies and practices.
• Maintain above-standard customer relations.
• Report accidents promptly and accurately.

Education And Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Commercial Drivers License (CDL) or ability to attain one within 90 days of hire.
• Experience operating heavy equipment within the tree care industry, utility line clearance, and/or vegetation management industry.
• Knowledge of basic mechanical repair is a plus.
