About the role

Sundt is seeking experienced Trackhoe Heavy >1/2cu operators for a challenging role involving steep slope work. Preference is given to candidates with mining experience.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a variety of heavy equipment including backhoes, excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, haul trucks, dump trucks, and water trucks.
• Perform preventative maintenance and conduct pre-shift walk-arounds to ensure safe operation of assigned equipment.
• Maintain positive working relationships with all crew members.
• Ensure high-quality work, safety, and productivity at all times.
• Provide feedback to improve processes and share knowledge with colleagues.
• Inspect subordinates' work for accuracy and compliance with plans and specifications.
• Eliminate waste in all aspects of work.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years (level I), four years (level II), five years (level III), and six plus years’ experience in industrial/commercial construction.
• In-depth understanding of heavy construction equipment operations.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Physical Requirements

• Up to 12-hour shifts.
• Hard physical work in varying temperatures and outside conditions.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
• Lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 lbs. on an occasional basis.
• Use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects frequently.
• Comply with safety standards and procedures.
• Reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis.
• Stoop, kneel, or bend on an occasional basis.
• Wear personal protective equipment (steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.).
• Move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.
