About the role
ND Sheets, a division of ND Paper, specializes in transforming high-quality paper rolls into precise, customized sheet sizes to meet client needs. As a Shift Lead, you will oversee sheeter operations in our converting facility, ensuring smooth and efficient production.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate safety as a core value and establish a safe work environment by actively leading the safe execution of work.
- Maintain a daily focus on the safety of self and others, ensuring all safety training is accurate and up to date.
- Conduct area safety team meetings and intervene/coach when unsafe acts are observed.
- Lead and supervise employees to maintain equipment for productivity and reliability.
- Operate a fork truck, roll clamp truck, and other heavy equipment as needed.
- Responsible for the safe and accurate unloading, loading, and warehousing of materials.
- Meet physical requirements, including lifting and pushing up to 50 lbs, stooping, and standing for long periods.
- Maintain good communication as a common interface with internal mill customers.
- Demonstrate safe and clean work practices and report any unsafe conditions or equipment defects immediately.
- Manage spare parts inventory and perform daily maintenance and knife changes.
Requirements
- Previous experience operating machinery or similar converting equipment preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and perform minor repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret production work orders and machine settings.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment.
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain one is a plus.
- Experience in an industrial setting.
- Independent decision-making and critical thinking skills.
- Willingness to continuously learn and develop operational skills and knowledge.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Comfortable working in a warehouse/manufacturing setting with noise and temperature variations.
- Manual dexterity and ability to operate hand tools for maintenance tasks.
