Essential Functions
- Operates solid waste vehicles/equipment in support of daily bulk trash operations, solid waste and recycling routes, including side loader, rear loader, and brush truck.
- May also operate other equipment such as a tractor, street sweeper, loader/backhoe, and/or other equipment.
- Complies with Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations by conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintaining equipment, performing spot checks, checking fluids, fueling vehicles, and ensuring all parts are functioning properly.
- Assembles and repairs plastic waste containers by installing or replacing wheels, axles, and lids.
- Delivers containers to customers.
- Completes daily work logs and prepares paperwork necessary for daily operations.
Minimum Qualifications
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalency is required.
- An equivalent combination of education and job-related experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
- One (1) year of experience operating heavy equipment.
- A valid Arizona Class B Commercial Driver's License and a current DOT medical examination certificate are required.
