Equipment Operator - Solid Waste (Bulk Trash)

Essential Functions

• Operates solid waste vehicles/equipment in support of daily bulk trash operations, solid waste and recycling routes, including side loader, rear loader, and brush truck.
• May also operate other equipment such as a tractor, street sweeper, loader/backhoe, and/or other equipment.
• Complies with Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations by conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintaining equipment, performing spot checks, checking fluids, fueling vehicles, and ensuring all parts are functioning properly.
• Assembles and repairs plastic waste containers by installing or replacing wheels, axles, and lids.
• Delivers containers to customers.
• Completes daily work logs and prepares paperwork necessary for daily operations.

Minimum Qualifications

• A High School Diploma or GED equivalency is required.
• An equivalent combination of education and job-related experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
• One (1) year of experience operating heavy equipment.
• A valid Arizona Class B Commercial Driver's License and a current DOT medical examination certificate are required.
