About the role

The Omni Homestead Resort & Spa is a four-season resort located in Virginia, known for its historical significance and modern amenities. It offers a range of activities suitable for families and corporate events.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate preparation for day’s work by arriving in uniform and with a positive attitude.
• Function as a member of a team to accomplish established goals.
• Carry out all golf course maintenance tasks with a sense of pride and ownership, adhering to established quality guidelines for daily course conditioning.
• Inspect all tools and equipment prior to, during, and after use.
• Operate a variety of equipment including mowers, string trimmers, backpack blowers, and other small tools.
• Operate self-propelled walking and riding mowers.
• Perform golf maintenance work such as repairing turf using sod, reseeding, setting up protective barriers, planting and pruning trees and shrubs, removing debris, mulching, weeding, cutting up downed trees, etc., using hand and power tools.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license and meet company MVR requirements (strongly preferred).
• Able to work outdoors in various weather extremes.
• Able to learn to operate and work around potentially hazardous equipment including but not limited to hand tools, trimming tools, mowing equipment, transportation vehicles.
• Able to work weekdays and weekends as necessary.
• Able to stand up to 60 minutes per hour worked.
• Able to walk, climb, bend/stoop, overhead reach, hand/eye coordination, arm/hand movement up to 60 minutes per hour worked.
• Able to lift over 40 pounds horizontally, floor to waist, grasping/holding, pushing/pulling, and carrying.
• Experience with general landscape care tasks is preferred but not required.
