About the role
The City and County of Denver offers competitive pay commensurate with education and experience. Although the full pay range is posted, the target hiring range is $25.00-$28.00/hr. We also offer generous benefits for full-time employees which include but are not limited to:

Street Maintenance, a division within the City and County of Denver’s Department of Transportation and Infrastructure, is responsible for keeping Denver’s streets and alleys safe, clean, and reliable year-round. The division oversees a wide range of essential services, including pothole repair, milling, paving, patching, alley maintenance, and citywide street sweeping. It also operates Denver’s asphalt plant, which produces the materials necessary to resurface and maintain the city’s transportation infrastructure. In addition, Street Maintenance leads Denver’s citywide snow response program, ensuring timely and efficient snow removal to keep roadways accessible during winter weather.
What You’ll Bring
Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
- Desire to perform light to heavy physical labor on a variety of projects related to street maintenance
- Previous experience with street maintenance, and other labor or construction-related tasks
- Desire to work outside in various weather conditions (snow, rain, heat, ect) and environments (dust, fumes, etc.)
- Knowledge of city of Denver streets/alleys and use of maps
- Desire to promote to other positions within the department
Additional details
- This position requires a performance assessment which involves a pre-trip inspection, post-trip inspection, and maneuvering/driving.
- To be considered for this position, you must pass this assessment.

- Candidates are required to hold a valid CDL clear of any restrictions or under prohibited status in the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Clearinghouse.
- This position requires a background check, physical, and drug test.
- Applicants for commercial driving positions must demonstrate proficiency in the English language.
Other important details
- This position requires a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL "B") with appropriate endorsements at the time of application.
- Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
