Equipment Operator I - Colorado Springs Airport
About the role
The Colorado Springs Airport is seeking an Equipment Operator I to join their Airfield Maintenance team. This role involves performing construction, maintenance, and repair tasks for the Airfield Maintenance Division.
Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor such as mowing, erosion control, snow removal, and fence repair
- Airfield and landside painting
- Maintain, repair, and replace concrete/asphalt surfaces and drainage systems
- Operate mowing, light construction, and airfield snow removal equipment
- Ensure all work is performed according to applicable safety regulations
- Perform general grounds maintenance
- Perform general maintenance and repairs of equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Completion of the twelfth grade (high school diploma or GED)
- One year of full-time, professional experience in related field
- Valid, non-probationary Colorado driver’s license not subject to restrictions
- Valid non-probationary Colorado Class B CDL not subject to restrictions
Qualifications
- Knowledge of practices, methods, and materials used in grounds maintenance
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and standard safety practices
- Experience with all types of concrete repair and replacement
- Experience with all types of asphalt repair and replacement
- Safely operate assigned vehicle, machinery, and equipment
- Adhere to Airport and FAA safety standards

- Control tower radio communications

Pay
Hourly rate of $21.78 - $26.14.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday - Friday; 8-hour shifts. Opportunity for overtime and occasional night work depending on project deadlines and operational requirements. Subject to on-call, emergency call-out, and seasonal duties such as 12-hour rotating shifts for snow removal procedures when necessary.
