About the role

An experienced Equipment Operator for the Hampstead, NC area project who can safely operate equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform documented pre‑shift 360 walk‑around inspection of the equipment
• Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate such stated equipment
• Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads in response to hand or audio signals from crew members
• Load and move dirt, rocks, equipment, and material
• Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies
• Perform daily maintenance and housekeeping including inspection, checking fluid levels, greasing and cleaning
• Follow safety policies and procedures
• Perform other job‑related duties as required or assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience operating excavators
• Experience with mass excavations
• Experience with basic tools and mechanically inclined
• Capable of lifting 50 lbs
• Thorough knowledge about safety precautions while working
• Work requires exposure to construction site environments having extreme temperatures, dust, fumes, smoke, hazardous substances, and loud noise levels
• Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule
• Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency
• Provide personal transportation to and from the job site
• Willingness to learn and adapt to change
