Equipment Operator Foreman - Lukeville, AZ

About the role

Sundt is seeking an experienced Equipment Operator Foreman to oversee operators of various heavy equipment including backhoes, excavators, dozers, loaders, graders, haul trucks, dump trucks, and water trucks. The role requires availability for overtime, passing a pre‑employment drug screen, and includes an estimated project duration of one year.

Responsibilities

• Maintain positive working relationships with all crew members.

• Provide feedback to ensure materials, tools, equipment, and information are available for the work.

• Maintain high proficiency in preventative maintenance of all related equipment.
• Inspect subordinates’ work, ensure accuracy and compliance with plans and specifications, explain deficiencies, and take corrective action.
• Eliminate waste such as waiting, rework, transporting, material storage, and time.

Requirements

• Minimum of three years (level I), four years (level II), five years (level III), or six plus years’ experience in industrial/commercial construction.
• In‑depth understanding of the operation of various types of heavy construction equipment.
• Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, safety and quality standards, and effectively utilize trade tools and equipment.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Physical ability to work up to 12‑hour shifts in varying temperatures and outside conditions; climb and maintain balance on steel/wood framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds; lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 lbs. occasionally; use hands frequently to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects; comply with all safety standards and procedures; reach above shoulder heights and below the waist frequently; stoop, kneel, or bend occasionally; wear required personal protective equipment (steel‑toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hardhat, vest, etc.); move in and around confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.

Pay

Rate is $36.56 per hour plus cash fringe benefit; qualified candidates receive $1,246 weekly per diem.

Schedule

Working hours are 60+ hours per week; overtime availability required.
