Equipment Operator / Foreman

About the role

Boston North Excavation is seeking a heavy equipment operator/foreman with 5+ years of experience in construction sites, including utilities, pipe work, site grading, and mass excavation. The ideal candidate will have a valid Class A or B CDL, a valid DOT medical card, and experience operating bulldozers, excavators, skid steers, dump trucks, and hoisting licenses 2A or better.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of subcontractors and a supervisor
• Read and understand construction plans
• Operate various heavy equipment including bulldozers, excavators, skid steers, and dump trucks
• Ensure adherence to occupational safety and health standards
• Manage daily operations and coordinate with other contractors
• Travel up to 60 miles from home address to manage active projects

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED (preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a heavy equipment operator
• Prior experience as an excavator operator required
• Experience with loader operators and skid steer operators preferred
• Knowledge of heavy construction vehicle maintenance and safety practices
• Valid DOT medical card

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of construction sites and procedures, including utilities
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans
• High school diploma or GED
