Equipment Operator Entry

Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions

• Move levers and press pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
• Position clamps around bales of cotton, loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products or materials and transport load to designated area.
• Unload and stack material by raising and lowering lifting device and opening and closing clamping and grappling devices.
• Inventories materials on work floor.
• Pull orders accurately, using a tag list of bale numbers.
• Scan bales to ensure accurate and efficient work procedures and data exchange utilizing tablets and scanners.
• Load and unload materials onto or off of trailers, conveyor belts, scales, pallets, skids, lifting devices or railcars.
• Perform all related responsibilities as required.

Education/Professional Certifications/Licenses

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Forklift certificate required.

Experience

• One to three years related experience/training.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (including Any Physical Demands)

• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents.
• Speak effectively with supervisors or employees.
• Apply common sense and problem-solving skills.

Job Requirements

• Standing, walking, and sitting.
• Use of hands to finger, handle, and feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Reach with hands and arms.
• Climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
• Ability to speak and hear.
• Regularly lift/move up to 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.

• Good close and distance vision.
• Good color vision.
• Good depth perception.
• The ability to focus.

Working Conditions

• Duties are performed in typical warehousing conditions in and outside of buildings.
• Working frequently near moving mechanical parts and could be exposed to fumes and cotton dust.
