Equipment Operator - Distribution
About the role
Join our team at Terex/Genie and embark on an exciting opportunity as we seek a skilled and dedicated Equipment Operator - Distribution to contribute to the Distribution Center team.
Responsibilities
- Strong orientation towards safety, quality, cost, delivery, morale, and continuous improvement.
- Drive and function various AWP units around facility for inspection, shipment, and storage.
- Utilize forklifts to move units around for various functions.
- Load a variety of AWP units onto outbound shipment trailers.
- Reconfigure units to match customer orders.
- Perform various quality inspections based on standards.
- Identify minor issues and escalate.
- Enter defects into Tulip.
- Operate a variety of handheld tools.
- Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position.
Requirements
- Requires basic knowledge of computer applications – Microsoft Suite.
- Requires sufficient human relations skills to receive and communicate technical instructions, orient new team members, and maintain harmony in a small work team of diverse backgrounds.
- Requires the completion of a high school curriculum or the equivalent.
- Requires basic understanding of MEWP assembly and functions.
- Must be able to work at height and ability to learn all unit types. Ability to work in all types of weather.
Nice to Haves
- Must have an in-depth knowledge of safe work practices.
- MEWP license a plus.
- Must be a self starter and be able to manage time wisely.
- Additional vocational education may substitute for experience.
- Understand the flow of production and adhere to operations visual management system and production process.
- Good attendance is key to success.
- At least 1-year experience in manufacturing or similar type of work environment.
Physical Requirements
- 10-hour shifts. OT as required.
- Standing for long periods of time.
- Requires ambulatory ability to walk, stand, reach, stoop and bend on a continuous basis.
- Requires auditory ability to project voice in a production environment and hear instructions.
- Work at various heights dependent on machine type.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed in a heavy manufacturing environment where significant safety considerations exist from use of dangerous equipment, proximity to moving objects, full-body physical labor and handling of medium-to-heavy weight materials.
- Required equipment for all operations includes but not limited to; steel toe shoes, hearing protection and safety glasses.
Pay
The starting rate of pay for this position is $25.05 (see step grid) hourly. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc.
