Equipment Operator Crew Leader

Smith Lawnscapes LLC, a family-oriented landscape construction and maintenance company serving the Greater Lansing area for over 20 years, is seeking a dependable Equipment Operator and Crew Member to join our dedicated team. Responsibilities

• Safely lead crew, operate and maintain a variety of landscape and construction equipment, including excavators, loaders, and other machinery
• Perform hardscape installations, including planting, paving, and other construction tasks
• Lead the team in preparing and maintaining job sites to ensure smooth workflow
• Follow safety protocols and company policies at all times
• Help with general labor tasks as needed, including loading, unloading, and site cleanup
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure project deadlines are met

Requirements

• At least one year of landscape or construction experience
• Ability to safely operate industry tools and equipment
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Ability to perform physically demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions, including lifting up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the day
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and punctuality
• Good communication skills and ability to work well independently or as part of a team
• Knowledge of landscape and construction materials and methods
• Knowledge of safety procedures related to equipment operation and outdoor construction
• Willingness to learn and take pride in craftsmanship
