Responsibilities
- Operate excavators, fork lifts, and other equipment
- Develop an understanding of DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations, as well as TEI's Health and Safety Practices
- Understand and execute all required paperwork
- Routinely perform pre- and post-use inspections of equipment
- Stabilize and solidify EPA-listed hazardous waste for disposal
- Process waste materials per landfill, waste-to-energy, and recycle specifications
- Work with various stabilization and treatment reagents
- Maintain facility to meet or exceed permit requirements
- Assist Facility Manager as requested
- Maintain good attendance
- Frequently handle hazardous chemicals and biological waste, including donning and doffing personal protective equipment
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred but not required
- A minimum of 1-2 years experience operating excavators and other equipment
- Basic knowledge of, or interest in, the hazardous waste field
- Self-motivation with the desire to learn
- Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship
- Must have a reliable form of transportation
- Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC)
- Upon employment, required to participate in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC)
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to work overtime on a regular basis
- Must be willing to work flexible hours within the work week (Monday through Friday)
- Must be able to report to designated office within 1 hour during Emergency Response rotating shifts
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior relevant industry experience
- Active HAZWOPER 24 or 40 hour certification
- Willingness to obtain Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
