Equipment Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, fork lifts, and other equipment
• Develop an understanding of DOT, EPA, and OSHA regulations, as well as TEI's Health and Safety Practices
• Understand and execute all required paperwork
• Routinely perform pre- and post-use inspections of equipment
• Stabilize and solidify EPA-listed hazardous waste for disposal
• Process waste materials per landfill, waste-to-energy, and recycle specifications
• Work with various stabilization and treatment reagents
• Maintain facility to meet or exceed permit requirements
• Assist Facility Manager as requested
• Maintain good attendance
• Frequently handle hazardous chemicals and biological waste, including donning and doffing personal protective equipment

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred but not required
• A minimum of 1-2 years experience operating excavators and other equipment
• Basic knowledge of, or interest in, the hazardous waste field
• Self-motivation with the desire to learn
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship
• Must have a reliable form of transportation
• Must be willing to consent to Motor Vehicle Record screening, criminal background check, pre-employment physical, and drug screen (inclusive of THC)
• Upon employment, required to participate in a random drug screening program (inclusive of THC)
• Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis
• Ability to work overtime on a regular basis
• Must be willing to work flexible hours within the work week (Monday through Friday)
• Must be able to report to designated office within 1 hour during Emergency Response rotating shifts

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior relevant industry experience
• Active HAZWOPER 24 or 40 hour certification
• Willingness to obtain Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
