Equipment Operator

About the role

The Heavy Equipment Operator's primary function is to operate a variety of heavy equipment at the worksite to construct, maintain, or repair highway, heavy civil, or building structures. Operators are also expected to assist in other duties around the jobsite as needed.

Responsibilities

• Operates a variety of equipment to complete tasks such as clearing land, trimming backfill, and moving or transporting materials like dirt, rocks, and other aggregates
• Knowledge of operating procedures for loading and unloading materials
• Performs daily safety and maintenance checks on equipment; oils, greases, services, and makes normal maintenance adjustments
• Completes required paperwork and documentation
• Performs other related duties as required

Requirements

• 3-5 years of operating experience preferred
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in adverse weather conditions
• Ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures
• Effective communication with co-workers and supervisors to ensure proper project completion
• Strong work ethic and desire to learn
• Good manual dexterity; may be required to stand, bend, kneel, or sit for long periods
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening
