Equipment Operator

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts, reach trucks, order pickers, and other material handling equipment to move products throughout the warehouse.
• Efficiently load and unload delivery trucks, ensuring proper placement of goods and safe handling of materials.
• Assist with inventory control by scanning, counting, and tracking items using handheld devices or warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Adhere to all safety guidelines and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and coworkers.
• Congduct regular equipment inspections and report any malfunctions or safety hazards.
• Transport materials to designated storage areas, ensuring optimal organization of goods for easy retrieval.
• Confer and correspond with management to rectify problems, such as damage, shortages, and nonconformance to storage specifications.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the equipment and work areas, removing debris and hazardous materials as needed.
• Perform other duties assigned.

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience operating warehouse equipment such as forklifts, reach trucks, and order pickers is required.
• A valid forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification through company training.
• A strong understanding of warehouse operations and equipment safety.
• Ability to use warehouse management systems (WMS) or similar inventory tracking software.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• A strong attention to detail and accuracy in task completion.
• Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) as needed.
