Equipment Operator

About the Role

Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction is seeking a motivated and skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our dedicated team. This role involves operating various types of heavy equipment to prepare job sites, grade terrain, and meet project specifications in fast-paced, high-production environments.

Responsibilities

• Operate multiple types of heavy equipment, including backhoes, dozers, excavators, loaders, motor graders, and scrapers.
• Use GPS and manual controls for precise grading and excavation.
• Handle attachments, hydraulics, and perform trenching, loading, and material movement efficiently.
• Operate equipment for roadways, building pads, ponds, and demolition projects.
• Maintain equipment, perform light maintenance, and ensure safe, damage-free operation.
• Support pipe crew operations and adhere to strict safety standards.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3-7 years of Heavy Equipment Operating Experience with multiple types of equipment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Willingness to perform laborer work.
• Ability to work as a team member with a professional manner and positive attitude.
• Motivated self-starter capable of managing multiple tasks.
• Ability to work safely under pressure with time constraints in a changing environment.
• Physical ability to perform frequent gross body movements such as bending, climbing, lifting (up to 75 lbs), twisting, standing, balancing, stooping, and handling materials.
• Good eye-hand coordination and depth perception.
• High School diploma/GED preferred.
• Flexible availability, including overtime and possible weekends.
• Valid Driver’s license.
• Clear communication skills and ability to understand spoken instructions.
