About the role
The Equipment Operator applies standard operating procedures to support distribution center operations. This role is responsible for participating in the coordination and movement of products in preparation for distribution and may partner with the inventory team to manage inventory including discrepancies. The Equipment Operator will safely operate equipment including but is not limited to forklift, electric pallet jack (EPJ), order picker, Turret, etc. in accordance with OSHA and Otter Products protocols.
Responsibilities
- Utilize appropriate safety precautions to operate equipment in the distribution center including but not limited to: forklifts, electric pallet jack (EPJ), order pickers, Turret, etc.
- Participate in the coordination of products including picking orders per process, counts and quantities
- May receive product and conduct support outbound distribution as needed
- Utilize warehouse management system to restock or replenish product storage locations
- May partner with inventory team to manage discrepancies and/or re-slotting of new SKUs
- Responsible for immediately reporting any and all mechanical or safety related issues to the appropriate point of contact
- Maintain flow of production throughout production run in an efficient manner to achieve distribution goal
- Maintain in process inventory and ensure inventory moves are accurate and all documentation is correct and complete, accuracy is a must
- Load and unload trucks as necessary
- May participate in performing general forklift upkeep
- Support and maintain a positive safety culture by following all safety policies and procedures and actively contributing to a safe working environment
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is strongly preferred
- Minimum of one year of equipment operation experience is required
- Experience operating a forklift is required
- Experience with M3 and/or FactoryTrack using scanning devices or workstations required
- Experience with consumer goods production processes and inventory maintenance is preferred
- At least 18 years of age or older (due to operation of machinery/equipment)
