Equipment Operator

Martin Marietta is seeking an Equipment Operator to join our team at the Midlothian Quarry in Midlothian, Virginia. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, dependable, and motivated.

About the role

This position involves safely and efficiently operating a variety of off-road vehicles and heavy equipment used in mining, including water trucks, haul trucks, dozers, loaders, and excavators.

Responsibilities

• Operate off-road vehicles and heavy equipment within company guidelines and safety standards.
• Complete daily pre- and post-inspections of working areas, ensuring adequate berms and roadways.
• Perform pre-shift safety inspections on equipment and report needed repairs to the supervisor.
• Ensure safe operations around conveyors, surge piles, and crushers.
• Conduct daily preventative maintenance: check tire pressure, oil, grease, diesel fuel, hoses for leaks, and moving parts for proper function.
• Maintain safe traffic flow throughout the site.
• Aid in the training of co-workers as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Experience in the maintenance and operation of mobile equipment, construction equipment, or equipment used in processing plants.
• Experience in operation and maintenance of off-road vehicles and heavy equipment (preferred).

Schedule

6:30 AM – 4:30 PM, with weekends as necessary.

Pay

The base hourly range for this position is $25.40 - $26.60, exclusive of benefits or bonuses. The offered compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience.
