Duties and/or Responsibilities
- Starts engine, shifts gears, presses pedals, and turns steering wheel to operate.
- Moves levers to lower and tilt bucket and drives front end loader forward to force bucket into material piles.
- Moves levers to raise and tilt bucket when filled, drives vehicle to work site, and moves levers to dump material.
- Becomes familiar with digging plans, machine capabilities and limitations, and with efficient and safe digging procedures in a given application.
- Moves materials over short distances.
- Backfills excavations.
- Loads trucks and rail cars.
- Measures and weighs materials.
- Creates and maintains inclines and ramps, and handles slides, mud, and pit cleanings and maintenance.
- Inspects material moving equipment and performs routine maintenance such as: lubricating, adjusting and repairing machinery; replacing parts such as gears, bearings, and cutting edges; fueling, and; cleaning.
- Uses power or hand tools.
- Aids in plant maintenance as directed.
- Performs safety inspections in and around sand plant.

- Able to work independently and under time constraints.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Minimum Requirements
- High school education and six months experience operating large scale equipment, or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ensure OSHA, DOT, EPA, DNR, MSHA, Federal, State, and Local safety and environmental regulation compliance including attending training.
