Equipment Operator

About the role

This position performs skilled work involving the operation of equipment and vehicles used in the maintenance, construction, and repair of public infrastructure within the City of McDonough. Assignments may include responsibilities in stormwater, water distribution, wastewater, and other areas of Public Works.

Responsibilities

• Operate various pieces of equipment and vehicles to perform maintenance tasks on public infrastructure.
• Assist in the construction and repair of public works projects.
• Participate in inspections and monitoring of infrastructure systems.
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to pass a background check.
• Knowledge of public works operations and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Experience operating heavy machinery and vehicles.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Good physical condition.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $25.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
