About the role
The Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible handling of material and operation of equipment.
Responsibilities
- Move bulk material and cargo, and/or load trucks, with heavy equipment
- Complete daily paperwork, including daily equipment checklist
- Operate all equipment safely and efficiently, complete daily pre-trip inspection
- Perform general labor tasks to assist with material processing and property maintenance, pile maintenance (turning), or other projects as needed
- Follow all safety and operational policies, regulations, and programs
- Successfully complete all required training programs
- Monitor product for quality and report any issues or concerns
- Perform other duties as assigned and assist other staff as needed

Requirements
- 3+ years of heavy equipment experience such as front end loader, excavator, dozer, trackhoe (not a forklift position)
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and transportation required
- Minimum 1–3 years’ experience operating heavy equipment including: front-end loader, bulldozer, excavator, and heavy forklift
- Ability to safely lift 50 lbs
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work varied hours including weekends, holidays, evenings, and/or overnight shifts required
Physical Demands & Work Environment
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is required to stand; walk; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk with alternate standing.
The employee is subject to a dry, sometimes dusty warehouse environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
