Equipment Operator

About the Role

The Equipment Operator ensures the safe and efficient operation of warehouse forklifts and electric pallet jacks. Responsibilities include maintaining materials for production, removing finished product, and upholding a clean and safe working environment while wearing all required PPE. Strong communication with co-workers, operation leads, and supervisors is essential.

Responsibilities

• Complete daily forklift safety inspections and report any deviations to the Operations Lead.
• Ensure equipment is maintained according to company standards.
• Operate company equipment safely, including forklifts, clamps, cherry-pickers, motorized pallet jacks, and other motorized equipment.
• Load and unload tractor-trailer trucks using a forklift, pallet jack, or manually by hand.
• Read customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items and quantities to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
• Receive inbounds (offload, count, and label).
• Load outbounds (identify, count, and load).
• Perform hand stacking and/or manual pack-off.
• Assist other departments as needed.
• Utilize RF (Radio Frequency) equipment to track product.
• Disassemble, reassemble, or repair products, materials, or equipment.
• Sort, bale, weigh, load, and recycle materials based on customer specifications.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Sufficient formal education to read, comprehend, and act upon verbal and written information.
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and/or six months of related experience preferred.
• Must be equipment certified.
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to operate basic equipment.
• Must be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail.
