About the role

The Equipment Operator position is located in Papillion, NE. This role operates large excavators, dozers, sheepsfoot rollers, articulated trucks, and front-end loaders. Essential duties include operating heavy equipment, performing laborer tasks, maintaining a safe work area, communicating with project support staff, and representing the employer with government oversight personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate large excavators, dozers, sheepsfoot rollers, articulated trucks, and front-end loaders.
• Perform the duties of a Laborer as necessary.
• Maintain a safe work area.
• Communicate and work with the Project Support staff – QCM, SSHO, Superintendent, and surveyors.
• Communicate and professionally represent the Employer with government oversight personnel.

Qualifications

• Education: None
• Experience: 2+ years of demonstratable experience on levee repair and construction in USACE projects.
• Experience: 2+ years of demonstratable experience working riprap placement projects for USACE.
• Training: Completed a 10-hour OSHA Construction Safety Course.
• Knowledge: Ability to operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, front end loaders, and rollers to cut and restore river/creek banks at prescribed depths.
• Skills: Ability to use GPS enabled heavy equipment, read and interpret utility locate marks, field sketches, and other work documents related to the areas being excavated, and complete and file paperwork in an organized and legible form.
