Equipment Operator

About The Position

We are looking for an experienced Equipment Operator to join our growing team. You will operate a variety of equipment types to clear and grind trees, limbs, and other natural forest materials, as well as equipment used to manufacture mulches and soils. Assignments may include operating a track loader, wheel loader, excavator, or grinder. Equipment operators are expected to operate machinery safely and professionally while maintaining a courteous demeanor with customers and coworkers. A successful candidate will ensure work is completed safely, on schedule, and as directed. Responsibilities

• Perform pre/post service inspections on equipment.
• Safely and efficiently operate equipment as directed while on job locations or in company yards.
• Complete daily service on equipment, including cleaning radiator/filters and equipment cab interior.
• Complete and submit all necessary paperwork daily (inspection reports, work orders, loader logs, etc.).
• Report all accidents and injuries, regardless of severity.
• Follow all standard operating procedures and processes.
• Wear Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) at all times (safety toe shoes/boots, vest, hard hat, & gloves).
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as required or assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to work +/- 60 hours per week, including Saturdays with overtime (hours not guaranteed).
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, if applicable.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to sit, stand, and kneel for long periods and walk for short periods.
• Ability to climb into and out of equipment several times per day using 3 points of contact.
• Ability to use hands and arms to steer, operate finger controls, and adjust equipment controls inside and outside of machinery.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, and crawl to perform full inspections and clean equipment.
• Must be able to work outside for extended periods in all weather conditions.
• Must have proficient vision and hearing to safely operate motor vehicles and equipment.
• Must be able to frequently use arms overhead for tasks such as cleaning equipment and tossing ropes or tie-down straps.
• Must be able to pull a rope with up to 40 lbs of resistance using arms only.
• Must be able to work in a dusty environment and tolerate various types of work dust.
• Must perform “look around” checks and twist the upper body to check blind spots when moving equipment.
