Responsibilities
- Before games, prepare and stock home and visiting benches, locker rooms, and referee areas.
- Meet visiting team buses, assist with unloading and re-loading equipment, and address visiting Equipment Managers’ needs.
- Support players during pre-game warmups, including rebounding and passing.
- Assist Coaching, Athlete Care, and Operations staff with game-day requests.
- Remain courtside during games to quickly wipe wet spots on the court.
- Provide players with towels, water, warmups, and other requested items after substitutions or timeouts.
- Prepare locker rooms for halftime and post-game needs.
- Rotate with other Equipment Operations staff to run laundry loads, flip loads, and fold towels for delivery to courts and bathrooms.
- Clean benches and locker rooms after games and return equipment to storage.
- As schedules allow, assist with court readiness, laundry, locker room setup, and on-court player requests during workouts or practices.
- Support visiting and home team practices at Xfinity Mobile Arena or designated alternative courts.
- Collaborate with the Head Manager and Coordinator of Equipment Operations and the team to complete responsibilities efficiently.
- Anticipate player and staff needs, proactively addressing them with the game-night basketball operations team.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Required to be available to attend 90% of home games.
- Hard-working, detail-oriented, organized, and able to multitask, prioritize, and use time efficiently.
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor when interacting with players, coaches, and staff.
- Strong interpersonal skills: ability to listen, anticipate team needs, and eagerness to learn on the job.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent changes.
- Reliably maintains confidentiality and discretion.
- Willingness and ability to carry team equipment as needed.
- Adaptable and flexible: adapts to changes, manages competing demands, and handles irregular hours and weekends.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed at Xfinity Mobile Arena in Philadelphia, PA.
- Irregular hours required, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Physical demands include moving throughout the arena, assisting with pre-game warmups, reacting quickly to cleaning needs courtside, lifting up to 45 pounds, and interacting with players, coaches, staff, and fans.
Pay
The pay rate for this position at commencement of employment is $15.92 per hour. Overtime pay is provided when working qualifying overtime hours.
