Equipment Mechanic - Shop

About the role

The ideal candidate will have experience with various types of heavy equipment and possess strong interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills. This position requires physical effort to move up to 75 pounds, frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling. Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office are necessary, as well as the ability to drive vehicles and work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform replacement of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components
• Utilize all technical support resources in troubleshooting, determining procedures, and identifying parts needed for repair
• Conduct Unit Condition Inspections and Reports
• Maintain work area in a safe, clean, and orderly manner
• Advise supervisors of situations impacting customer relationships
• Provide accurate and sufficient information on required documents
• Demonstrate Altec Company Values
• Perform all tasks in accordance with Altec Safety practices and procedures

Requirements

• High School Diploma, state-approved High School Equivalency, or GED
• Strong interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills
• Physical effort to move up to 75 pounds, frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling
• A high level of dexterity
• Ability to support customers by working overtime
• Advocate for safety in all activities

Qualifications

Must have a valid driver's license and comply with Altec's tool policy.

Skills

Knowledge of mechanics, electrical, and hydraulic systems is essential. Proficiency in troubleshooting and identifying parts for repair is required.

$31-36/hr depending on experience and location
