About the Role

Altec mechanics operate in a variety of environments, including service vehicles, customer interactions, and flexible schedules. The position involves repairing and maintaining heavy equipment, utilizing technical support resources, and adhering to Altec's safety practices and values.

Responsibilities

  • Perform replacement of electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components
  • Utilize operator, parts, and maintenance manuals for troubleshooting and part identification
  • Conduct Unit Condition Inspections and Reports
  • Maintain work area in a safe, clean, and orderly manner
  • Advise supervisors of potential impacts on customer relationships
  • Provide accurate and sufficient information on required documents
  • Demonstrate Altec Company Values
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, state-approved High School Equivalency, or GED
  • Experience with aerial devices, digger derricks, chippers, cranes, construction, mining, farm equipment, military heavy equipment, aircraft and aerospace, or ground support equipment (AGE/GSE)
  • Previous experience as a mechanic or technician, focusing on heavy equipment
  • Education in mechanics, electrical, and/or hydraulic systems
  • Physical ability to move objects weighing up to 75 pounds, frequent stooping, bending, squatting, and kneeling
  • Strong interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills
  • Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work overtime and advocate for safety

Qualifications

Pay and Schedule

$31-35/hr depending on experience and location. Potential for overtime.

Schedule

Flexible schedule accommodating various locations across the U.S. and Canada.
