About the role

The Community Development Director oversees all activities and operations within the department, managing divisions such as building services, planning and zoning, economic development, and redevelopment. Key responsibilities include developing and implementing policies and procedures, preparing and presenting budgets, and collaborating with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develops and administers policies and procedures for divisions including building services, planning and zoning, economic development, and redevelopment.
• Prepares and presents budgets to ensure financial sustainability.
• Confers with individuals, citizen groups, business organizations, consultants, and related contractors to gather input and make informed decisions.
• Ensures the achievement of both short-term and long-term goals.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field from four years of college.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• Seven years of experience in Community Development or a related field.
